ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

Education for the Global Learner

Who Our English Language Arts Program Is For

Based on Common Core standards, our English Language Arts program is designed to deliver an international school curriculum to children who have already mastered the basics of English language learning, have attended or are currently attending international school, or have lived abroad in an English-speaking country and wish to continue their English learning.

English Language Arts For The Global Learner

With a curriculum used in international schools around the world, children can expand their knowledge and go beyond just achieving core language competency. Our English Language Arts program also emphasizes the importance of 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, problem solving, and self-expression in English. All these skills combine to create a global learner.

English Language Arts Learning Focus

Reading and Comprehension

With grade-appropriate level books and stories, students challenge their knowledge and develop valuable tools such as critical and analytical thinking to break down context and reflect on what they are reading. By building on their comprehension skills, they are able to become aware of the world around them.

Writing and Grammar

Students expand their writing skills and begin to understand how to plan out writing stories, essays, and passages. Along with the stories read throughout their lessons, students also focus on how to properly organize their thoughts and will learn to adapt as they plan and revise their writing.

Vocabulary

As reading, comprehension, writing, and grammar abilities are elevated in each grade, vocabulary expands to adding common Greek and Latin suffixes, prefixes, and multi-meaning words. By learning complex vocabulary, students are able to express themselves properly and better understand others as well.
